The Nautilus Icon

One of the most striking features in Bank Negara Malaysia Museum and Art Gallery is the Nautilus Staircase that begins from the lobby and links every floor. This structure is the inspiration for the main graphic icon. The icon is actively applied and prevalent across all of Bank Negara Malaysia Museum and Art Gallery’s communications material. As a graphic element, the spiral symbolically reflects the desire for knowledge that never stops. The fluid movement in the design speaks volumes for inquisitive and inquiring minds. In short, the ‘spiral’ generates ‘curiosity’.
